UP FOR A GOOD STORY?
|
How many times have you lain in bed before turning out the light wishing for a good story to read? How many times have you pulled yourself from beneath the warm blankets to gaze once again on your collection of classic novels? And in spite of so many books, how many times have you "just read" them all?
A wise man once said that if your favorite book hasn't been written yet, you must go out and write it yourself (or something like that). So that is what James has done. If you're up for a story with a great deal of originality, a little history and a definite stroke of James' personality, come and read his new mystery.
Follow the tale of a detective as he visits the ancestral home of the Greystone family in Britain. Eighteen-year-old Randall is desperate to find a legendary treasure hidden within the castle, but he's not the only one. Unable to do it alone, he calls in the services of one Harry Thorton to help him unlock the secrets of his family's past and find the Treasure of Greystone Castle.
As the chapters in this short story are completed, "Harry" will be keeping you posted. Be sure and check back often.
How was that for a typical advertisement?-LT |

Aaaahhh!!!!!

Ok, normally I don't even take these quizzes, let alone post the results on a blog for the world to see, but this was so cute and so totally me that I just had to. :) And since I only ended up being one-third quirky, eh, why not?
How Quirky Are You?
Your Quirk Factor: 33% | You have a few little quirks, but you generally blend in well with society. Only those who know you well know how weird you can be. |
And of course, having done one, I became interested in the next quiz . . .
What European City Do You Belong In?
You Belong in Milan
|
Stylish and sophisticated, you want to enjoy a truly European life - away from tourists!
Milan fits you perfectly. Great shopping, high quality food, lots of culture... with very little hype.

You belong in London, but you belong in many cities... Hong Kong, San Francisco, Sidney. You fit in almost anywhere.
And London is diverse and international enough to satisfy many of your tastes. From curry to Shakespeare, London (almost) has it all!

Okay thoughts are flying here and the fastest way I know of to make any sense of them is to type them out. Writing is too slow. Even talking is too slow for my thoughts, but typing is good because I can see them forming before me and then correct them as they need it, without ever having to retract a statement.
So anyway, here I am looking at my bible. It's opened to Hebrews chapter seven, where Pastor Cattell had pointed out one lonely little verse in the middle of his message Sunday. Verse 25 was the one he cited, but I really think it needs to be taken into context, so I while I have read the whole previous chapter and a half to find out what we're talking about, I'll leave that to you and only bring out the previous two verses.
vs. 23- And they truly were many priests, because they were not suffered to continue by reason of death: vs. 24- But this man (Christ), because he continueth ever, hath an unchangeable priesthood. vs. 25- Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come to God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.
Pastor was talking about how Christ is always interceding for us before the Father that we may not walk into temptation. (And btw, that word that means "walk into" has the idea attached to it of "walking into" a brick wall, not a room.) Anyhow, he was talking about that, but what caught my attention was the next verse.
For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens; vs. 26
Verses like this always catch my attention, because they connect with my favorite hobby--clothes. Yes, they do; look. When a style or color becomes you, it flatters, or more correctly, complements you. A color can sometimes look as though it was made to match your eyes or a style may be made to fit perfectly, tailored just for you. It becomes you.
Christ became us, as a high priest. He was tailored--made to fit. God purposely went looking for a high priest that would match. Christ needed to be able to "save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him." He needed to be allowed to live forever for the purpose of interceding for you. So God made a new kind of priest. He made a man who "hath an unchangeable priesthood," not one who would inherit the priesthood from his right as a Levite, or would leave the office for someone else to pick up after his death. It is his office and his alone, because He will ever live and ever pray for you.
For the law maketh men high priests which have infirmity; but the word of the oath . . . maketh the Son, who is consecrated forevermore. vs. 28 |

The ShugaBowl |
Sounds like some kind of sports thing, but in reality, the ShugaBowl is just a little hideaway for me, Sugarcube herself, to let loose my thoughts and occasional creativeness. |
