Utter Nothingness
It’s that time of day again. It seems that every day at around eleven, especially on Mondays, I have all my work done and nothing to do until the guy at the next desk hands me more packing slips. Usually, I would have deposit slips to fill out, but I did those early today since I had to pick up the mail from Saturday. So I can sit here typing to my heart’s content I guess.

The sky is such a light blue, it’s almost white and you can barely make out the outline of clouds against it. Next door, the flag still flies at half-mast, honoring President Ford’s death. Our flag flies half-mast too, but I can’t see it from my desk. There are horses grazing in the field across the street. They seem unmoved by the constant flow of traffic going up and down the main road.

The scene never changes much. Once in a while, you can see a car pull into the cemetery down the street, or a huge flock of birds splash past the window, but generally it’s the same. The wind is blowing fierce and cold today, as evidenced by the heavy lean of the trees and the violent dance of the aforementioned flag and the dust of white snow still lingering on the ground, still protected from the sun by the shade of the building to our left.

Looking around the office, I find myself flying solo. I begin to wonder just exactly where everyone has gone, and how I’m supposed to get any work done when no one is up here creating work to do. *sigh* There’s gotta be something to do here.

Welcome back to my little world!
My days have been filled with file folders, office attire and lunch hour conversations. My evenings have been filled with Henty books, Xbox games and cleaning dishes. My Saturday was full of errands around town, household chores, more Henty, undercover birthday shopping and futile attempts to locate local voice instructors. (The problem with that being the local music studios keep much the same hours as this new job of mine.) :-\

But that's life on my end. I keep trying to get things done at home, while making it to work on time. I think I'll have to start setting my alarm about fifteen minutes earlier than I have been. I think I'm missing the best colors of the sunrise by getting up just at seven. But it's still dark at six thirty, so it must be just in between there that the light show begins. :-)

The ShugaBowl
Sounds like some kind of sports thing, but in reality, the ShugaBowl is just a little hideaway for me, Sugarcube herself, to let loose my thoughts and occasional creativeness.
