It's That Kind of Day
|
I've been enjoying some majorly amazing weather this week. Jon and I wake up hearing the same birds we have been all winter (since none have migrated back yet), but they all are using their spring voices, flirting with each other in the early morning treetops. The mourning doves were cooing at me this morning on my way to the garage.
It was great to go outside without a coat, just long sleeves. The sun is painting the clouds white on top, while beneath they retain they're bluish hue from the recent rain. Little girls are rolling skating in the road, and their laughter and teasing drifts through the open windows on a breeze that caresses the light curtains in the living room.
It's the kind of day that's still kind of cold, but you don't want to close the sash. You'd rather put on a jacket and warm socks and feel your nose turn red from the chill as the sun goes down.
It's the kind of day that gets you thinking about buying hamburgers and hot dogs for a barbeque next weekend, and makes you pray the weather will hold that long.
It's the kind of day that everyone loves. The kind of day that says spring is just around the corner.
Cross your fingers---it may be right. :) |

The ShugaBowl |
Sounds like some kind of sports thing, but in reality, the ShugaBowl is just a little hideaway for me, Sugarcube herself, to let loose my thoughts and occasional creativeness. |
